Programmatic firm OpenX launches Singapore hub in preparation for regional push

US-based programmatic firm OpenX has launched a regional hub in Singapore that it hopes will accelerate its growth across Southeast Asia.

Co-founder Jason Fairfield said mobile and in-app engagement “dominate” the region with OpenX eyeing expansion in Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam, in addition to Singapore.

“Digital media, and in particular mobile advertising, has created a massive opportunity for advertisers, publishers and technology companies in Southeast Asia,” he said, adding how the growth of programmatic technology is opening up “even greater opportunities to drive consumer engagement at scale”.

Fairfield said OpenX has seen a 52% year on year revenue growth in its existing Asian market, Japan where he claimed it ranks as the second largest digital ad exchange behind Google.
