Aunties mock rival recipes in rap battle campaign for Texas Chicken
Rapping aunties mocking each other’s chicken recipes are fronting a campaign for Texas Chicken in work from two independent agencies, Monster Interactive and Breed.
It is the second time the fiery characters have been used by the brand following previous campaigns where they have each saved the day by taking Texas Sambal chicken to parties.
The new video, created for Singapore’s National Day, sees the aunties – Makcik Halijah and Auntie Bee Li – in a rap battle with lyrics in Singlish.
Monster Interactive Singapore business director Ivan Yeow said: “We noticed there was a trend of overly-patriotic National Day ads that tend to be too dramatic. We just wanted to celebrate Singapore using rapping aunties, sambal fried chicken, and Singlish. What’s not to love?”
The online ad is being pushed through Texas Chicken’s social media pages and will be supported by paid media.
