Most watched YouTube ads in Malaysia ‘no longer dominated’ by long form content

Naga DBB is the creative agency behind the most watched ad on YouTube in Malaysia during the first half of 2018, data from Google has shown.

The five minute film tells the story of a fashionable delivery man in a spot for Astro Gempak.

It was followed by an ad for Mcalls, created by Deeplus Holding.

Google, revealing the 10 most-watched ads between January and June, found the majority were geared around Malaysia’s key festivals, Hari Raya Aidilfitri and the Lunar New Year.

The social media giant also said the most viewed spots were shorter than previous years when long-form ads “dominated the list”.

“This year’s contenders opted for a balance between the traditional 30-second TV ad duration and sketches that extended into the double-digit minute mark,” Google Malaysia said. “This allows brands like Tenaga Nasional Berhad to tell compelling stories whilst still capturing the attention of viewers.”
