Nearly 200 industry experts join the Mumbrella Asia Awards jury – the biggest ever

The largest jury ever has been announced for this year’s Mumbrella Asia Awards, which will take place at The InterContinental Hotel in Bugis Junction, Singapore, on November 15. With 197 jurors, it is the biggest jury so far for the event – now in its fifth year.

This year, the jury will be chaired by Mars vice-president of marketing for Asia, the Middle East and Africa Nicole McMillan. Joining her on the panel of judges will be a number of high-profile industry experts with local, regional and global remits.

They include The Walt Disney Company South Asia chief marketing officer Alex Baillie, Visa head of marketing for South East Asia Vivian Pan, Circles.Life marketing manager Megan Yulga, R3 principal and co-Founder Shufen Goh, Foodpanda head of marketing Laura Kantor, AIG Asia-Pacific CMO Michael Cook and McDonald’s global media director Josephine Tan.

Joining them will be Infocomm Media Development Authority marketing and communications director Karen Low (from the Singapore government), Kellogg Company APAC and Africa regional marketing lead Sanjib Bose, Johnson & Johnson APAC head of total brand experience delivery Rachelle Berges, Singapore Press Holdings Integrated Marketing Division marketing communications head, BBC Worldwide head of marketing for Asia Shi Ho, LinkedIn head of communications for South East and North Asia Linda Lee and Oath digital prophet David Shing.

Meanwhile, other brands represented on the jury include SingTel, Huawei, Amazon, Mondelez, Unilever, Vice Media, Facebook, Mastercard, The Economist, Sony, Crocs, Nielsen, Airbnb, McLaren, Standard Chartered, Thomson Reuters, IBM and Twitter.

Also joining are representatives from HSBC, Expedia, Google, StarHub, One Championship, The New York Times, Ikea, Accenture, PayPal, Cisco, Fox Networks, Deliveroo, Mediacorp and Singapore Management University among many others.

Unilever is just one of the many brands represented on the jury

The expanded jury size is part of a drive to make the judging process even more robust and rigorous. It comes after the introduction of live judging last year, which will continue again this year.

It means that jurors will come together in Singapore on October 11 and 12, at Maxwell Chambers, for the second round of judging – in order to witness live presentations from those shortlisted, either in person or via conference calls.

Members of the jury will then get the opportunity to ask questions about the work and submissions, ensuring the judging process is both robust and credible.
