Promotions at ‘soaring’ PHD India, as OMG recognises talent

Omnicom Media Group has announced two promotions at its PHD India office, with Jyoti Bansal moving up to chief executive officer and Shavon Barua being elevated to chief client officer. The promotions are with immediate effect.

Bansal has lifted PHD India to new heights, claims OMG

An engineering and MBA graduate, Bansal joined Omnicom Media Group in 2009 as head of new business development and was promoted to managing director of PHD India in 2013.

Due to new account wins and scooping accolades at awards shows, her work is now being recognised – the agency said. She will focus on expanding PHD’s footprint in India.

Meanwhile, Barua – who joined PHD in 2015 as managing partner to work on the Hindustan Unilever business out of the agency’s Mumbai office – had also performed strongly, claimed OMG.

PHD India is soaring, claims Shriyan

Speaking about the promotions OMG India CEO Harish Shriyan said: “With a unique leadership mix of Jyoti’s media prowess and Shavon’s creative background, PHD India has soared to incredible heights over the past few years, becoming one of India’s most acclaimed media agencies.

“These well-deserved promotions will ensure PHD India continues to scale new heights, as they continue to find a better way for their team, clients and partners.”

Bansal added: “Over the years, we have built a highly differentiated offering in the market, rooted in a culture of smart strategic thinking and creative innovation. From a young challenger brand in the market to winning media agency of the year, the last five years have been an exhilarating journey.

“I look forward to continuing forging a future-ready agency and working with the team to produce more industry leading work.”

In addition, Barua said: “In my new capacity, I look forward to combining gamification techniques with hard-core strategic principles to spark further innovation.’’
