Visit Malaysia hints at redesign of mocked 2020 logo
The much-derided Visit Malaysia 2020 logo could be changed “if we need to improve the design”, tourism chiefs have said.
The Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry hinted it may look at altering the design which has been mocked since its launch earlier this year.
The logo features a postage stamp design and includes an Orangutan and turtle, both wearing sunglasses, along with the slogan Travel, Enjoy, Respect.
The logo, produced by in-house staff, has been described as “unprofessional”, “very ordinary” and “embarrassing”.
According to media reports, tourism minister Mohammadin Ketapi defended the design, insisting it “look very nice”.
But he acknowledged there was time to make changes.
“We have a while yet as it is only 2018, so if we need to improve the design of the logo, we still have time,” he said.
