Guy Hearn moved to chief product officer at OMG, as management changes continue

Hearn has a new role at OMG

Omnicom Media Group has made Guy Hearn chief product officer for the Asia-Pacific region, in the latest of a raft of management changes since APAC CEO Tony Harradine took the reins earlier this year.

Hearn was previously APAC chief innovation officer at the agency group and the appointment was described as “a lateral move”. His focus will be on developing products for the group’s agencies OMD, PHD and Hearts & Science.

He will also work closely with the analytics division at OMG, Annalect, to “further embed data and technology in the agencies’ marketing solutions” – the company said.

“As we continue to gain more holistic understandings of consumers and our ability to engage with them becomes more sophisticated in an increasingly connected ecosystem, agencies’ product offerings have to consistently evolve,” said Harradine.

Harradine is building his own management team

Hearn himself added: “I truly believe that when we look back at the year 2018 in the future, we will be marking it as the moment when made a step-change in how we understand and communicate effectively with new generations of consumers.

“I look forward to working closely with our agencies and specialist units to devise product offerings that ultimately enhance our clients’ ability to personalise and customise how they engage with consumers at scale.”

Former OMG APAC chief investment officer Harradine was promoted in April when erstwhile APAC CEO Cheuk Chiang stepped down, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family at home in Melbourne, Australia.

In June, Harradine appointed Paul Shepherd as APAC chief investment officer. And earlier this month, former Dentsu X Singapore managing director James Hawkins was appointed as PHD CEO for APAC.

Mumbrella understands that another management appointment will be announced soon, the final change from Harradine.
