Iris Singapore chief growth officer Craig Mapleston exits agency

Iris Singapore has announced the departure of chief growth officer Craig Mapleston after nearly a decade with the agency.

He will leave in the middle of October to take a senior Singapore-based role with a full service agency which is soon to launch in Asia.

Mapleston declined to reveal the agency’s identity, but said it has a footprint in Europe and the US and was now set on expansion in Asia.

Mapleston was managing director of Iris Singapore from February 2009 before taking the chief growth officer role in early 2017. Prior to joining Iris he spent 10 years at Bates Asia/141 Worldwide Singapore.

“It was a very tough decision to leave Iris,” he told Mumbrella. “I am wedded to the agency and have great relationships with clients and staff. I am proud of our achievements over the past 10 years.”

He said the new role was “too enticing” and one that he “might regret” not taking.

In a statement, Iris thanked Mapleston for his “commitment and contribution” to Iris Singapore.

Regional chief executive Luke Nathans said: “On behalf of Iris I would like to thank Craig for his tireless effort in helping to make the Iris brand as forward-thinking and progressive as it is today.

“We wish him all the best in his future endeavours and are sure his hard work, drive and determination will guarantee him every success.”
