Vintage TV channel Hits to launch in Vietnam in October

Vintage television programme channel Hits will be launching in Vietnam next month.

The Singapore-headquartered parent company Rewind Networks first launched in 2013 and claims to reach more than 10 million households with Hits.

The announcement:

Rewind Networks and K+ today announced the launch of HITS (Channel 29) in Vietnam on K+ starting 1 October. The channel, broadcast in HD, is part of K+’s nationwide DTH and OTT services. HITS is exclusively broadcast on K+’s DTH service, making it the only DTH operator within Vietnam to carry the channel.

This deal further strengthens Rewind’s relationship with CANAL+ Group, making this the second market to launch with them. Earlier this year, HITS launched on CANAL+ Myanmar.

“In partnership with Thaole Entertainment, we are very proud to launch HITS on K+, Vietnam’s largest DTH service provider. Vietnam marks HITS’ tenth market in Asia – the timing of this launch could not be more perfect as the channel looks to celebrate its fifth anniversary end of this year,” said Avi Himatsinghani, CEO of Rewind Networks.

“K+ viewers in Vietnam can look forward to HITS’ curation of the very best Hollywood television series from the past three decades – an entertainment destination like no other.”

“The launch of HITS is part of our channels line-up strategy to bring the best content to our audience. We are confident that, together with our own K+ channels with exclusive sport contents as our main assets, HITS will reinforce our line-up entertainment contents with a selection of all-time great action, family, drama and comedy series from Hollywood,” said Stephane Baumier, Deputy General Director of K+.

HITS’ unique value proposition of curating the very best TV shows is a robust addition to the content line-up of K+’s offer in Vietnam. HITS complements current offerings with an exciting selection of the greatest TV shows of all time – from high-octane, action-packed dramas like Knight Rider and Magnum P.I. to evergreen, family-friendly series like Little House on the Prairie and popular comedies like Full House, The Nanny and That ‘70s Show.

This programming strategy brings well-loved characters and timeless stories to a new generation of TV viewers while breathing new life into iconic shows.
