Reprise Malaysia MD Manu Menon exits after four years with IPG Mediabrands

IPG Mediabrands agency Reprise has restructured its leadership in Malaysia following the departure of managing director Manu Menon, after four years with the business.

Reprise will not directly replace Menon, with a dual management team of Afif Azman and Thanendran Thanesvaran taking over.

Azman has been named group technology director, with Thanesvaran promoted to group commercial director.

They have been with IPG Mediabrands for three and two years respectively, and will report to Reprise group managing director Darren Yuen.

The departure of Menon comes five months after IPG merged its mobile specialist Ansible and social offering Society into Reprise to creating a full-service performance agency.

Menon was previously MD of Ansible.

Yuen paid tribute to Menon, describing him as a “rare breed”.

“He has helped shape Reprise over the years, building capabilities and innovation within e-commerce, mobile and technology to drive performance for the agency,” he said. “He has also been an integral part of the management team, as well as a great colleague and business leader. We wish him all the best on his next path.”

Speaking of the new leadership team, Yuen said: “This is a well-deserved promotion for both Afif and Thanen as they have proven themselves over their years at IPG Mediabrands.

“Afif has been extremely instrumental in assisting clients to unlock value from their data silos in order to better manage their communications while Thanen has been steadily growing the client base with his unique ability of helping find the subject and medium that best fits client identities, and producing high-quality content that meets their objectives.”

Menon described his four years at Reprise as “gratifying”.

“I have learnt and grown a lot with the group,” he said in a statement. “I have always had a passion for teaching, so being a trainer now feels like I have come full circle, and is a natural progression. What I will miss most are the people as they are genuinely the best I have ever worked with.”
