Toyota Malaysia appoints The Clan as its digital creative agency

Malaysian creative agency The Clan has bagged the digital creative business for Toyota in Malaysia, following a pitch with five other agencies.

The agency’s mandate includes strategic development, creative execution, content creation as well as managing digital and social platforms.

The announcement:

The Clan has been appointed as the digital creative agency on record for Toyota Malaysia. The scope of work for the retainer account includes strategic development, conceptualisation, creative execution, content creation, web and app development as well as monitoring of all its digital & social platforms. This includes Toyota’s website, email marketing platforms, mobile app, social media platforms, influencer engagements, and after sales integration – a move that signals Toyota’s journey towards full digital transformation.

The Clan was part of a 5-way pitch among other digital agencies and was chosen for its strategic and creative solutions in bringing the brand forward. The creative agency’s journey with Toyota began on a project basis with a Hari Raya campaign back in June called ‘Jalan Cerita’.

“The Clan is humbled and honoured to have been given the opportunity to go on this journey with Toyota. Beyond just digital and social platforms, we will be deploying our newly formed tech and experiential design division to serve the needs of the brand,” says The Clan’s business chief, Syed Nasir.

Casey Loh, creative chief at the Clan adds that, “We see ourselves as more than just another web development agency. While maintaining websites are important, the status quo however, shouldn’t be the same. Together with Toyota, we hope to challenge conventions and build on relevant digital ideas that are native to the platform.”

Both the Clan and Toyota have declined to reveal the value of the contract and its duration.
