Travel video channel Anydoko launches in Hong Kong on back of Cathay Pacific partnership

Sydney-based travel video channel Anydoko, operated by Australian/Dutch creative production firm Radical Orange,  has launched operations in Hong Kong. This development follows a partnership with Cathay Pacific. The office will be led by creative director Vikash Autar and content strategist Dean Vowles, whose previous experience was as associate social director McCann Worldgroup Hong Kong.

The release:

ANYDOKO continues its growth in Asia with a new Cathay Pacific Partnership. Founded in Sydney, Australia, ANYDOKO, creates high-quality original travel series and publishes these to its thriving online communities of travellers on Facebook, YouTube as well as on its own website and on in-flight entertainment.

These high-quality original productions, often virally shared, contribute to ANYDOKO’s monthly reach of over four million people worldwide. This has attracted many brands hungry for compelling sponsored content. Brands are able to integrate into a variety of original travel series and are able to engage ANYDOKO for dedicated commercial production and social strategy through ‘ANYDOKO Creative Studios’. Partnerships to date include Hong Kong Tourism Board, Contiki, Visit Britain, Akita Government and Aircalin.

The latest of these brands, Cathay Pacific, has handed ANYDOKO creative control over all destination video content, as well as the airline’s global influencer strategy. This announcement follows a successful campaign, in which Hong Kong YouTuber J Lou starred in a series of travel videos, promoting Beijing and Shanghai to Cathay Pacific’s Australian travellers.

Anthony Wu, Social Media Manager, Cathay Pacific, said, “Promoting our home of Hong Kong and both our new and existing routes is such a significant part of what we strive to do on our social channels. With video being integral to successful content these days, it makes sense to work directly with people who have a proven record of creating great travel content that people not only watch and share, but actually use as a reference when travelling.”

ANYDOKO’s Hong Kong team will be spearheaded by Creative Director Vikash Autar and Content Strategist Dean Vowles, former Associate Social Director at McCann Worldgroup Hong Kong.

Autar said, “We’ve all fallen in love with Hong Kong from filming here over the years, so it’s a great opportunity to work with Cathay Pacific, a brand that’s so iconic both locally and globally. We’ve always believed that if you make great content, people will come. We are excited to apply this philosophy by creating high-end travel content for Cathay Pacific, to take their destination videos to the next level.”
