Veteran marketing journalist Ravi Balakrishnan joins Mumbrella Asia as editor

Veteran marketing journalist Ravi Balakrishnan has today joined Mumbrella Asia as editor.

Previously the editor of Brand Equity in India – the marketing magazine of The Economic Times, India’s most-read daily financial newspaper – Balakrishnan has more than two decades as a journalist under his belt.

He previously worked for CNBC and Starcom.

Balakrishnan has an English literature degree from Mumbai University and a diploma in advertising from the K.C College of Management Studies.

Following his appointment, Balakrishnan said: “I’ve been a regular reader of Mumbrella. I’m a huge fan of its no-nonsense attitude so I’m delighted to be joining the team in the Singapore office.

“Almost my entire professional career in India has been spent covering the marketing and advertising beat. I’m now looking forward to covering the whole media and marketing ecosystem across the rest of Asia too.”

Balakrishnan is Mumbrella Asia’s third editor. Robin Hicks launched the title and was at the helm until December 2016. He was succeeded by Eleanor Dickinson, who now works in Australia
