Genesis Healthcare hires Thomas Haugan as Singapore marketing head

Thomas Haugan has been appointed head of marketing and partnerships in Singapore for Genesis Healthcare, a firm that specialises in genetic testing and research.

Haugan’s remit in the role extends to the South East Asia region. He was most recently with creative production firm Williams Lea Tag as business development director for APAC.

His previous experience includes stints with AccelerAsia and Wunderman.

SINGAPORE, November 7, 2018 — Genesis Healthcare Co., Japan’s pioneer genetic testing and research company, today announced the appointment of Thomas Haugan as head of marketing and partnerships in Singapore, covering South East Asia.

“With a diverse experience ranging from marketing, digital, business development and the expansion of fast-growing technology companies across the region, Thomas Haugan is a great addition to the Genesis Healthcare team in Singapore”, said Michel Mommejat, Genesis Healthcare’s chief marketing officer.

Genesis Healthcare launched its regional operation in Singapore in March 2018 and is accelerating the introduction of its consumer brand GeneLife, offering direct to consumer genetic testing kits for personalised wellness and health. Recently GeneLife kicked off some marketing and education activities in retail environment and through social media channels.

“While initial focus is Singapore, expansion across other South East Asian markets is planned. Genesis Healthcare offers both consumer and medical services with more than 650,000 users undertaking DNA testing across East Asia. Thomas Haugan is the first marketing addition to the team, with more to come towards the year end”, said Michel Mommejat.

Thomas Haugan spent the last 8 years in Singapore in a range of regional positions. Most recently, he served as business development director APAC at Williams Lea Tag and previously worked at AccelerAsia and global digital agency Wunderman.
