Martech firm Impact opens in Singapore and reveals plans for China, Japan and India

Global marketing technology firm Impact has opened an office in Singapore and revealed its ambitions to launch in China, Japan and India too – speaking exclusively to Mumbrella.

The Singapore operations will be headed up by country manager for South East Asia, Antoine Gross who moves from social listening platform Synthesio. He will be joined by Yuci Xu, as customer success manager South East Asia.

Impact’s managing director for the Asia-Pacific region Adam Furness, who is based in Sydney, Australia, has also mapped out further plans for expansion in the region.

“We will be launching in Shanghai in quarter one of next year,” he said. “After China, the next market will be Japan with India a natural next step, though that’s likely to be in 2020.”

High smartphone penetration and an audience that is gravitating towards ecommerce were cited as the reasons for Impact’s growing footprint in the Asia region. To start with, Impact will be servicing many of its global clients like Lenovo, Airbnb, Uber and Microsoft.

Addressing the potential of the Asia market, Gross added: “What we’d like to do is get regional brands like Shopee, Lazada and Grab – and take them to countries in Europe and the United States.”

When asked what set Impact’s offering apart in an increasingly crowded marketing technology space, Furness said: “I come from the world of programmatic and could never say, hand on heart, that we were driving business outcomes.

“We were improving brand metrics and efficiency in buying media. But here, through our tracks and from what our customers tell us, we are driving business outcomes.”

Impact chief executive officer David A Yovanno said: “Impact has experienced phenomenal growth internationally, having just announced the opening of our Nordics office earlier this month and now South East Asia with our newest office in Singapore.

“We’re committed to growing our clients’ businesses globally and that means supporting our customers everywhere they conduct their business.

“This is why we continue to invest in our platform and people around the world. Antoine’s rich experience in martech will provide strong leadership and support to our partners throughout South East Asia.”
