The announcement:

Publicis Media China today announced the promotion of Vivian Zhu, CEO of Blue449, to a dual leadership role that will see her helm Zenith China while continuing in her current role as CEO of Blue449 China. This elevation to handle an expanded portfolio is a testament to Vivian’s stellar track record as a leader as well as the company’s belief in nurturing talent by promoting from within its ranks.

“Vivian has played an instrumental role accelerating Publicis Media China’s overall data & analytics products, as well as driving innovative solutions for our clients at Blue449 China,” said Bertilla Teo, CEO, Publicis Media, Greater China. “With Vivian leading Zenith China, I am confident she will bring a renewed perspective and continue delivering a new kind of ROI for our clients’ businesses,” she added.

With a wealth of leadership experience under her belt, a decade of that spent in the Groupe, Vivian worked in New York and San Francisco across various agency networks before returning to Shanghai in 2013, where she took on the role of Managing Director at Starcom Mediavest Group Greater China. She subsequently ascended to the role of Chief Digital Officer at the network, and in June 2017, Vivian was promoted to CEO of Blue 449 China, helping clients innovate and grow their digital business in China, as well as leading transformative initiatives that align with the agency’s vision of being open-sourced and innovation-led.

An avid advocate and visionary for using data and technology to personalise human experience in today’s multi-channel media landscape, Vivian also strongly believes in leveraging the latest technological innovations to design experiences and drive tracking and analysis.

Based in Shanghai, Vivian reports into Bertilla Teo and will officially assume her expanded role immediately.

At the same time, Ellen To, current CEO for Zenith China, will transition into a consultant for the agency. Ellen’s strength in building strong local client relationships places her in good stead as she continues to oversee several key Zenith accounts in China.
