Air New Zealand creates Singapore-specific campaign featuring mascot Pete the kiwi

Air New Zealand has created a campaign specifically aimed at getting more Singaporeans to visit New Zealand. Singapore is already among the Top 10 countries in terms of visitor arrivals and the surge of year on year tourist traffic was at 7% as of October 2018.

Enough reason then, to  create a bespoke campaign that targets the country. In the lead up to the launch film,  the airline released a teaser where the crew of Air New Zealand quizzed Singaporeans about what came to mind when they heard the word ‘kiwi’.

The star of the full-length ad is, unsurprisingly enough, a CG-animated kiwi named Pete who does not let his inability to fly get in the way of travel.

Speaking about the campaign, Air New Zealand’s head of south and south east Asia Jenni Martin said: “This new brand campaign seeks to engage more Singaporeans and showcase our award- winning products and in-flight experience.”

Air New Zealand has also increased capacity on its Singapore-Auckland route last year, and created a new seasonal service between Singapore and Christchurch to start from December this year.
