Maureen Wee appointed CEO at SPH Magazines

Maureen Wee has been appointed as CEO of SPH Magazines, the magazines division of Singapore Press Holdings. She will take over from Loh Yew Seng who returns to SPH’s finance division.

Wee was previously managing director of the business solutions team at SPH Magazines.

The announcement:

With effect from 1 March 2019, Ms Maureen Wee will be appointed as Chief Executive Officer of SPH Magazines.

She takes over the helm from Mr Loh Yew Seng, who will be returning to SPH’s Finance Division after a 12-year secondment to SPH Magazines. Mr Loh will be taking charge of capital markets, reporting to Chief Financial Officer, Mr Chua Hwee Song. Mr Loh will continue to be a director in SPH Magazines including its subsidiaries Blu Inc Holdings Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Blu Inc Media (HK) Ltd.

Ms Wee first joined SPH in 2000 and progressed to be the Advertisement Sales Director in the Marketing Division of the newspapers group. In 2010, she was seconded to SPH Magazines as Managing Director to head the Advertising Sales and Marketing teams for the fashion and beauty department. In 2018, Ms Wee took on the role of Managing Director of the Business Solutions team.

Ms Wee said: “We thank Yew Seng for his stewardship in guiding us to build SPH Magazines into one of the leading publishers in Singapore and the region. It is his fervent commitment that has enabled our journey in building products of distinction and growing audiences across networks.”

Mr Loh said: “With the restructuring which took place last year, we have established a strong team in SPH Magazines. Given Maureen’s wealth of experience in the industry, I am confident that she will continue to lead SPH Magazines to greater heights. I would like to thank all our partners and advertisers for their unstinting support. I hope that there will be more opportunities for collaboration in the years ahead.”
