The announcement:

Priya Alexander is returning to PHD Singapore to take on the role of Managing Director. In this new capacity, she will oversee the continued development of the agency’s award-winning capabilities and lead its growing team – comprising over 130 media planners, strategists, buyers and specialists – in the management of global, regional and local accounts.

Alexander rejoins the agency just under a year after she departed to join Mindshare as Senior Director, Global Comms Planning on the Unilever business. She previously served as Global Strategy Director at PHD Singapore for nearly three years, leading the agency’s strategic offering for clients such as Unilever and Audi. Alexander has also worked on the brand’s side of the business, performing marketing roles at Singapore Tourism Board and Procter & Gamble, and therefore brings extensive industry experience and knowledge to her new role.

Ranga Somanathan, CEO of Omnicom Media Group Singapore & Malaysia, commented: “We are delighted to have Priya back on the team. As the agency lead, she will leverage her comprehensive knowledge and industry experience further to advance the agency’s offering, ensuring PHD Singapore continues to attract both local and international businesses with its market-leading capabilities and talent. I look forward to seeing the agency reach even greater heights under her leadership.”

James Hawkins, CEO of PHD APAC, added: “Priya’s return to PHD in just under a year is a testament to the agency’s unique culture and exceptional talent pool. Her knowledge of the agency and acute understanding of PHD’s bespoke approach to helping brands Find A Better Way in their comms planning, will be a real asset to the team and our clients in Singapore.”

Speaking on her appointment, Alexander said: “To return to PHD Singapore is an honour and I am excited to start on this journey with a team that has inspired me to always ask the hard questions and challenge the norm. PHD Singapore undoubtedly has the market’s freshest approach to comms planning, underpinned by a fantastic product and evidenced by the agency’s broad client portfolio, trailblazing thought leadership, and growing list of accolades from around the industry. I look forward to collaborating with the team to ensure we continue to anticipate our clients’ needs before they do, and proactively develop bespoke solutions that keep their businesses at the cutting edge.”

Alexander commences her new role in February 2019.
