Asia Times relaunches site and launches Android app

Asia Times which began life as a broadsheet English newspaper in Bangkok, has relaunched its website, with multimedia features including an enlarged video section.

It has also launched on Google Play for Android with an app for iOS set to be available in the near future.

Asia Times has a new interactive site. The rollout for includes the familiar mix of independent and authoritative pan-Asian news, analysis, opinion and geopolitical commentary.

We have also introduced a host of new multimedia features, including an enlarged video section which will cover the issues and trends that are impacting our region. As our coverage expands in the weeks ahead, further elements will be included to cement Asia Times’ position as a global leader in the heart of Asia.

The launch marks a remarkable 25 months of rapid growth for Asia Times. Before 2016, the site had 100,000 readers, but today its intelligent mix of news, analysis and commentary is read by more than 12 million people in 30 countries.

Founded in 1995 as a newspaper, Asia Times has developed into the world’s only multi-language, pan-Asia news platform and is now one of the fastest growing media sites in the world. As well as English, we publish in traditional and simplified Chinese characters, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Korean, Filipino and Arabic.

Apart from three main newsrooms and social media hubs in Bangkok, Hong Kong and New Delhi, Asia Times also has bureaus in Beirut, London, New York, Washington and Seoul. In total, we have more than 180 reporters and editors working across the globe.
