Japan Airlines appoints Akira Mitsumasu as VP of global marketing

Experienced industry head Akira Mitsumasu has been appointed as vice-president of global marketing at Japan Airlines.

Mitsumasu is also a board member on the CMO Council for Asia-Pacific and has more than 30 years of industry experience.

The announcement:

Japan Airlines (JAL) has appointed Akira Mitsumasu as vice-president of global marketing. He will be leading the newly established global marketing department to drive growth and innovation across JAL’s international markets.

Akira brings over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry and has held multiple leadership roles within the company, including his most recent role as the VP of products and services planning.

Akira has been named one of Asia’s Best Marketers and is recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Global Marketing Leaders. He currently serves as an advisory board member on the CMO Council for Asia Pacific.

The Global Marketing department spearheads JAL’s international marketing initiatives and drives innovation in customer experience.

Headquartered in Japan, the department has established centers of excellence across JAL’s key regions with offices in Los Angeles, London, Shanghai and Singapore.
