TBWA Singapore promotes ‘from within’ – Mandy Wong becomes managing partner

TBWA Singapore has promoted industry veteran Mandy Wong to managing partner, as recognition of her work for the agency over 18 years.

Wong joined TBWA Kuala Lumpur as an entry-level account executive in 2001 and has steadily climbed the career ladder ever since.

The announcement:

TBWA\Group Singapore has today announced the appointment of Mandy Wong as managing partner, effective immediately. In addition to her current role as a key business lead, she will be responsible for building the company’s multiple disciplines, integrating new capabilities into the business, developing brand management standards, and helping to drive efficiencies across agency operations for sustained success.

Wong has over 18 years’ experience handling communication strategies and creative output for some of the region’s largest brands, including Standard Chartered Bank, Airbnb, Caltex, and now, Singapore Tourism Board. Wong first joined TBWA\ Kuala Lumpur in 2001 as an entry level account executive and within five years was moved to Singapore to handle one of the company’s largest global accounts, Standard Chartered Bank.

Steadily moving up the ranks, Wong was then selected to lead the revamp of Singapore’s destination brand for Singapore Tourism Board across the globe. Throughout her career, Wong has helped produce campaigns that have won global awards including Cannes Lions, Spikes Asia, and EFFIES; and in leading the agency’s largest brands, she has played an integral role in helping TBWA win agency titles in recent years, including Campaign’s 2018 Southeast Asia AOY and Marketing Magazine’s 2018 Overall AOY.

Wong’s appointment follows Ara Hampartsoumian’s promotion to CEO of TBWA\Group Singapore earlier this year. “TBWA has an established strategy of growing and elevating talent from within, and I’m thrilled Mandy will partner me in setting the vision and building our agency for continued success,” said Hampartsoumian.

“Having been with TBWA for nearly two decades, she truly embodies our disruptive spirit – from her unrivalled commitment and dedication to our clients’ brands, to her passion, energy and rigor in producing industry-defining work.”
