DDB Mudra Group wins Spotify’s digital marketing business in India

DDB Mudra Group has bagged the digital marketing mandate for music streaming service Spotify.

Its digital arm 22feet Tribal Worldwide will handle the Spotify business, responsible for digital strategy and planning, social media management, digital production and content creation. Leo Burnett also works on part of the Spotify business in India.

Following a multi-agency pitch, the DDB Mudra Group has won the digital marketing mandate of Spotify India. The brand will be managed by the Group’s digital solutions arm- 22feet Tribal Worldwide and will be led by Gaurav Magotra, Business Head- West, 22feet Tribal Worldwide.

Spotify is the world’s most popular music streaming service. Globally, the company has 207 million users, of which 96 million are subscribers. For its India launch, Spotify made available over 40 million songs and three billion playlists, with over 100 of those curated for its local users.

As part of the digital mandate, 22feet Tribal will be responsible for digital strategy and planning, social media management, digital production and content creation for the brand.

Quoting on the win, Gaurav Magotra said, “We are immensely excited to be working with Spotify on their India launch. It’s an iconic brand that has truly redefined the music category and continues to do so through ever inventive ways. Our goal will be to help fans discover more music and in turn help our brand build an organic cycle of engagement and app adoption.”
