DDB Singapore hires celebrated creative director from Miami and new regional planning director

Iu La Lueta

DDB Group Singapore has brought on board celebrated creative Iu La Lueta and ‘lion slayer’ planner Neil Cotton.

A veteran with DDB, Lueta moves from Alma DDB in Florida, where he was executive creative director of content. His track record includes multiple Cannes Lions including two gold, four silver and five bronze in 2017 for a campaign for Netflix’s Narcos.

A note from the agency said: In his new role as creative director, he will join creative chairman Neil Johnson and chief creative officer Chris Chiu to bring to life DDB’s new creative spirit ‘Move Beyond Reason’.”

Neil Cotton

Neil Cotton comes on board as regional planning director moving from Grey where he was global strategy lead on GSK. He is credited with having helped build Grey’s planning discipline in Singapore.

DDB Asia CEO David Tang said: “We are very excited to have Iu and Neil on our team here in Singapore.

“At a time when we need the best talent to do great marketing, we found two world class talents – not prima donnas, but hardworking and humble ones.

“Life’s full of irony. We’ve gone a long way to find Iu from Miami, while Neil was always near our doorstep in Singapore.”
