Iris creates Asia-Pacific campaign for Global Rapid Rugby

Iris has won the mandate to promote Global Rapid Rugby this summer across the Asia-Pacific region. The game is a fast-paced variant on rugby built around 70-minute games and rule changes that reward a more aggressive, risk-taking form of play.

The launch commercial will run across social, broadcast and digital channels from March to June. It highlights the excitement of the fast-paced format of the game, by having it rudely disrupt the sedate leisurely world of golf.

Iris board director Miguel Garcia said: “Rapid Rugby was created to bring new levels of entertainment to the sport.

“We created multiple pieces of content in easily digestible formats that represent Rapid Rugby’s fast-paced action.

“The potential to engage emerging rugby markets and new generations of fans across Asia Pacific is enormous. We’re incredibly excited about what the future holds for this formidable brand.”

Rapid Rugby marketing director Mark Doran added: “Our brand is rapid by name and rapid by nature. Iris was chosen after a competitive pitch process for its experience, professionalism and capability to deliver a disruptive launch campaign across broadcast, digital and social channels under the most extreme time pressures. We are bold and innovative and so is Iris.”

Global Rapid Rugby plans to expand to markets like China, India, Sri Lanka and the UAE by 2021.
