Unusual gift campaign: Forget chocolates, buy your loved ones health insurance instead
Dr Mumbo always finds himself stumped when it comes to buying gifts.
After a lot of deliberation, he usually defaults to something cliched and inoffensive like a box of chocolates or a bottle of wine.
But after seeing ‘The Unusual Gift’ campaign from iPropsect – for insurance firm Royal Sundaram – he realises he has been going about it all wrong.
Because, according to the ads, nothing says ‘I love you’ better than a health insurance policy.
Going by the campaign, there’s no occasion when giving someone a policy is wrong, weird, inappropriate or vaguely threatening.
It is apparently what your aged parents, your siblings and your partner have wanted all along. In fact, it’s a gift so spectacular, it doesn’t even require you to be present.
The campaign also shames those of us who have been investing in packaging , with the genius line: “Who says a present can only come in a gift box?”
So it’s good for the environment too then.
Dr M approves this message.
