FCB Jakarta creates Ramadan-themed film for Oreo on the joy of gifting

A new campaign from FCB Jakarta for Oreo brings the global ‘Stay Playful’ positioning to the Ramadan festival.

The film is about a young boy who decides to bring the Ramadan festivities to co-passengers stranded at an airport by a delayed flight, distributing tins of Oreo.

The Oreo tins have been specifically launched to tap into the traditions of  gifting that are a part of the festival.

Commenting on the campaign, Mondelez director of marketing for biscuits South East Asia Nikhil Rao said: “Oreo has always stood for sparking playful connections owing to its world famous twist, lick and dunk playful ritual.

“This Ramadan, Oreo aims to spark playful connections between Indonesians led by a TV campaign which shows how the Oreo Festive Gifting tin can spark connections, even amongst strangers.

“Oreo urges us to look at the world through the playful eyes of a child. The weariness and seriousness of adulthood vanishes leaving us with happy connections. This is the first of a series of initiatives that will ensure Oreo lives to its purpose: taking the brand to an even higher stature.”

FCB Jakarta regional creative director Ravi Shanker added: “All of us are playful when we are younger and that always has helped us become closer to others.

“The seriousness of adulthood makes us forget the specialness of festivals and their role in our lives. Seeing Ramadan through the eyes of a child helps us understand the importance of rituals and how we should nurture relationships during these special times.”

The campaign will be supported by on ground and digital content.
