Ogilvy leads the tally at the Effie Awards Singapore for 2019
Ogilvy has won six of the 15 trophies awarded at the Effie Awards Singapore for 2019, with four silver, a gold and a bronze. The top brands of the evening were Income which won a gold, silver and bronze and KFC which won three silver Effies. BBH was the agency that worked on the winning campaigns from Income. Ogilvy created the winning campaign for KFC.
As per norm, TV host Hossan Leong was the presenter, modifying popular songs like Aretha Franklin’s ‘Say A Little Prayer’ and ‘Shallow’ by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga into loving odes to the Effie awards.
Among the gold Effie winners was BBH for Income in the financial products and services category:
DDB Singapore for McDonald’s in the seasonal marketing category:
Iris Singapore for SPCA in the small budgets – products and services category:
Ogilvy and Geometry Global for the Early Childhood Development Agency in the government, institutional or recruitment category:
The 32 shortlists resulted in 15 awards – four gold, seven silver and four bronze. Speaking at the event, R3 Worldwide co-founder and president of the Institute of Advertising Singapore Shufen Goh said: “There was a 7% increase in entries and 22% came in from clients.
“Winning has never been easy because you cannot fake business results. This is not a vanity award but something that validates the role of marketing as a business driver.”
BBH Singapore CEO and Effie Singapore 2019 chair John Hadfield said: “Congratulations to the winners and to all those that were shortlisted. The Effie proves the value of our industry in Singapore. Thanks for everyone’s continued support.”
In the Asia-Pacific Effie held earlier this year, Ogilvy was deemed ‘Network of the Year’ and Ogilvy India judged ‘Agency of the Year.’
