OMD China CEO Aaron Wild resigns to return to Australia

Aaron Wild has left OMD China as CEO. Wild is expected to return to Australia. Formerly the CEO of PHD China, Wild was given the mandate for OMD in March 2017, filling a vacancy left by Arlene Ang. He was with OMG for eight years.

In a statement based on an internal note, OMG said: “After eight years of service with Omnicom Media Group China, Aaron Wild has resigned from his position as CEO of OMD China to return to his homeland of Australia.

“Stephen Li, CEO of OMD APAC, will be working closely with the agency’s leadership team to ensure seamless continuity of its operations, while the network identifies the right candidate to continue accelerating its momentum in China.”

Stephen Li added: “Aaron started his journey with our Group in 2010 and has been part of our growth in China ever since. He took the helm of OMD China in 2017 and helped ensure one of our region’s largest markets played its part in executing our network’s turnaround strategy in 2018.

“We thank him for his contributions over the years and wish him all the best for his return to Australia.”

A media industry veteran, Wild has worked across agencies like Carat, Zenith Optimedia, across Australia and Asia.
