OMD retains Vietnam’s largest dairy brand Vinamilk after multi-agency pitch

Vietnam’s largest dairy company Vinamilk has retained the services of OMD as its media buying agency.

OMD’s association with Vinamilk dates back to 2016. The company intends increasing its media budget with OMD by 500% for 2019.

The announcement:

Vinamilk, Vietnam’s biggest dairy company, has renewed its faith in OMD as its media buying partner for unlocking fresh business growth, having reappointed the agency to manage its media buying duties for 3 categories. The decision sees the extension of the partnership that commenced in 2016 and has already yielded significant business performance, leading the company to increase its media budget with OMD by 500% for 2019.

During its market review, Vinamilk evaluated four agency offerings for their unique strategy and infrastructure in driving continuous growth for its brands. OMD’s proven track-record of delivering business performance, as well as comprehensive understanding of the company’s brands and objectives, led to the successful reappointment and expansion of its remit.

Speaking on the decision, Phan Minh Tiên, Head of Marketing at Vinamilk Vietnam, commented: “Throughout the pitch process, OMD demonstrated an excellent understanding of our media buying requirements, presenting how they can maximise their buying capacities and cost efficiencies within Vietnam’s highly fragmented landscape. We are excited to continue working with the team on driving fresh growth through the smart and competitive opportunities offered by TV media.”

Julien Courant, Chief Operating Officer at Omnicom Media Group Vietnam, added: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Vinamilk. This reappointment is a testament to the passion and talent of the OMD team in delivering Better Decisions, Faster for Vinamilk, which ultimately drives stronger business results for its brands. We are extremely proud of everything we have already achieved together with Vinamilk, and look forward to raising the bar further still.”
