The Straits Times sees a business opportunity in ‘fighting fake news’ courses
Fighting fake news is fast becoming a national hobby in Singapore, following the recent introduction of government legislation to tackle online falsehoods.
Not only that, for some smart cookies it’s becoming a business opportunity too.
Take this course by Singaporean media owner The Straits Times, for example.
It promises that those attending will come out the other end being able to spot ‘common fallacies’ and ‘misleading headlines’.
And all for the bargain price of just S$648.
What great value. Dr Mumbo is in, sign him up immediately.
Is commenting on this at all going to get us all arrested? The new laws sailed through without a single Singapore citizen protesting in the streets. This tells me I better not say a word and move on.
ReplyOh the irony. Oh so Singapore.
ReplyST telling the people how to spot fake news? One of the [Edited under Mumbrella’s community guidelines] rags in the free world telling us how to spot the fakes. Takes one to know one. I guess they would be the experts:(
