DDB Hong Kong strategy head Andreas Krasser promoted to CEO

Andreas Krasser has been promoted to chief executive officer of DDB Group Hong Kong. This mandate is in addition to his current role as chief strategy officer.

Krasser joined DDB six years ago as lead planner in the Korea office. He has previously worked for Edelman, Lufthansa and Innocean. 

The announcement: 

Andreas Krasser has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of DDB Group Hong Kong, adding the new remit to his current role as Chief Strategy Officer.

Renowned for his strategic planning excellence, Krasser is expected to drive an integrated, forward-looking, and creative marketing agenda for DDB Group Hong Kong. Over the past 18 months, Krasser has expanded his role and responsibilities from Chief Strategy Officer to also growing the agency’s regional and MNC accounts and spearheading new business growth. Announced in June, DDB Group Hong Kong’s new business success culminated in being named Creative Agency of the Year 2019 by Marketing Magazine. Krasser’s team also won Campaign Asia’s New Business Development Team of the Year 2018.

Since joining DDB in Hong Kong six years ago, Krasser has led the strategic product on clients such as McDonald’s, Hotels.com, and HKTB. He first joined DDB in 2011 as Lead Planner at DDB Group Korea following roles at Innocean and Edelman. Krasser’s work is regularly recognised at local, regional, and international awards including Cannes Lions, Effies, the AMEs (Tangrams), and the WARC Prize for Asian Strategy. In 2013, he was named Campaign Asia’s Planner of the Year for North Asia, and in 2017 he won Brand and Strategic Planner of the Year for Greater China. In the same year, Krasser was also listed among Creativepool’s Global Top 100 Influencers. He is an avid writer for industry publications, and regularly lends his views on stage at international marketing conventions.

Over the past six months, DDB Group Hong Kong has added eight new clients to its considerable portfolio, including Hotels.com’s global merchandising business, Mannings, GNC, Tsingtao Beer, FANCL, New World Development’s K11 Musea development, Chow Sang Sang, and Sun Hung Kai Properties’ The Point.
