Former Wunderman Greater China CEO Bryce Whitwam joins MRM//McCann
Bryce Whitwam has joined MRM//McCann China as its chief executive officer. He had moved on from Wunderman Greater China three months ago as CEO
Whitwam replaces Mike Zeng and takes charge of an over 200-person strong operation.
A press release from MRM//McCann said: “Whitwam is one of Asia’s pioneers of non-traditional advertising, specialising in digital and data-driven marketing, retail communications and brand activation.”
Speaking about his new assignment, Whitwam said: “I’m positively excited to be joining MRM//McCann China. They have an extremely strong portfolio of global and local clients, including one of the best creative teams in the business. I look forward to building on that success.”
MRM//McCann global CEO Kate MacNevin said: “In China, the digital share of total media spend is 69.5% – the highest in the world, and this is expected to account for more than 75% of total spend by 2021.
“In this highly competitive market that is incredibly important to future growth of our global business, it is imperative that we are using our data and technology capabilities to drive digital transformation for our clients.
“Bryce is one of Asia’s pioneers of non-traditional advertising, and we are absolutely thrilled he is joining the MRM team to oversee and drive growth across all of our China operations.”
She added: “We thank Mike for his many contributions to MRM//McCann over the years, and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Following Whitwam’s departure a new management team was put in place at Wunderman Thompson with Carter Chow as chief executive officer for China.
