Gary Teo moves from Accenture back to VMLY&R

Gary Teo has been appointed as managing director for experiences and technology at VMLY&R. He was most recently marketing technologies lead at Accenture.

This marks Teo’s second time working for VMLY&R. He had previously joined the agency – then known as VML Quais – in 2013 as regional director of technology, after winding down Savant Degrees, an agency that he had founded.

Teo moved to Accenture in May last year, leaving the company after just 11 months. In his new role at VMLY&R, he will build the agency’s engineering and technology capabilities, as well as on building partnerships across the region. 

A release from VMLY&R said: “His immediate focus is on applying customer experience (CX) and data-driven marketing technology solutions to help drive business KPIs and provide value for VMLY&R clients.” Teo will be based in Singapore and report to Asia co-CEO Tripti Lochan. 

Speaking about his appointment, Lochan said: “We are delighted to welcome Gary back to the VMLY&R family. Client needs are changing every day, and as we continue to innovate and ramp up our capabilities across the region, Gary is a great complement to the team. 

“With his extensive experience bringing together marketing technology, data and creativity, he is the ideal candidate to take the Experience and Technology division to greater heights. We look forward to the energy and ideas he will bring to the table.”
