‘Dare To Leap’ challenge for Realme smartphone sees acrophobic India CEO go skydiving

Chinese smartphone brand Realme India’s CEO Madhav Seth went skydiving, apparently to mark selling 130,000 units of the flagship model of the phone – despite his fear of heights. The activation was conceived entirely in-house.

Seth who has a 122,000 plus following on Twitter had posted about his acrophobia.

In a later post, he said he would jump one foot for every ten units sold of the Realme 5 Pro phone.

Once the phone crossed the 130,000 mark on a designated sale day, Seth took the leap.

He also managed to conquer his acrophobia long enough to take pictures with the phone on the way down. Speaking to Mumbrella, Sheth said: “Realme is a young, dynamic brand that espouses philosophy of ‘Dare to Leap’, to its core. I have always had an acute fear of acrophobia but now since I am living the brand ideology that I truly believe in,  I wanted to get rid of my fears.

“It started as a fun challenge on twitter and I was blown away by the love that our realme customers have shown to our blockbuster hit – realme 5 pro. To celebrate the same and make it interactive, I announced adding a foot to my skydiving for every 10 realme 5 pro sold.

“Since we sold more than 130,000+ units, I dared and took a leap of faith and jumped from 13,000 feet. It was an exciting adventure and experience like no other.”
