One Championship & Vice Media: 2 more sessions added to the Mumbrella360 Asia programme

Two new sessions featuring One Championship and Vice Media have been added to the Mumbrella360 Asia programme for the conference in Singapore this November.

The three-day media and marketing conference will return on November 5 to 7 at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre.

On the Brand Stage, delegates will get to see the session titled ‘Creating a Global Sports Property in Asia that could be bigger than the NFL’.

Chatri Sityodtong, the founder and CEO of One Championship, aims to turn Asia’s largest sports property into the biggest such enterprise in the world. With more social media fans than that of Formula One already, One Championship aims to surpass America’s NFL in the future.

Now a unicorn company funded by Singapore sovereign wealth fund Temasek and United States venture capitalist firm Sequoia Capital, One is broadcast in more than 145 countries.

Sityodtong believes that the company can eventually reach a potential Asian audience of 4.2 billion people. Come along to this session to find out more about the brand’s story and its relevance for media and marketers – from the CEO himself. A Harvard Business School MBA, Sityodtong launched One Championship in 2011.

There will also be an additional masterclass session titled ‘Building a Millennial-Focused Media Giant: The Lessons from Vice’. Founded in the 1990s as a Canadian magazine representing subcultures like skateboarding, Vice transformed into a global media player with assets across print, digital and television – in a number of countries.

Not only that, it has become a prominent player in the content marketing segment – providing innovative work to help marketers reach its millennial and generation Z audience. The company even has its own in-house creative agency in Virtue.

But what strategies are necessary to engage with these hard-to-reach and fickle consumers? And once you have their attention, how do you keep it? More importantly, what turns them off?

Simon knows what it takes to get a millennial audience

In this masterclass presented by Vice Media executive managing director and head of international Hosi Simon, you will get the inside track on this new-wave publisher.

Simon has been with Vice since 2007, working for many of those years at the United States headquarters in New York before relocating to Singapore in 2017. Before Vice, he worked for Rockstar Games.

It is the second time the conference will be held. Back in 2017 the first event saw more than 1,100 delegates attend 70 sessions. Some of the industry’s most prominent speakers from across Asia and the rest of the world will feature on the programme. The format also includes one-to-one networking, a large exhibition zone, Speaker’s Corner and masterclass workshops as well as the four main content stages.

The annual Mumbrella Asia Awards ceremony will also take place during the same week as Mumbrella360 Asia – November 5 to 7 – meaning that those coming from outside Singapore only need to make one trip to attend both events at the Marina Bay Sands convention centre. Tickets can be purchased on the event website.

The conference is targeted at client-side marketers, ad agencies, media owners, adtech players, consultancy firms and related segments like recruitment and executive education.

“This year, Mumbrella360 Asia is going to be even bigger and better than 2017,” Carroll said previously. “Without a doubt, this is again going to be the region’s, if not the world’s best media and marketing conference this year.”

Already onboard as sponsors are Bonsey Jaden, IPG Mediabrands, Wunderman Thompson, PHD, Unruly, Brave Bison, Verizon Media, Getty Images, Mediacorp, MediaOcean, Moving Walls, Shutterstock, Taboola, Turner, Hong Bao Media, CNBC, Tickled Media, RhythmOne, Qualtrics, Shootsta, Reuters and The Code Co – with Singapore Tourism Board also supporting the event financially.
