Kyota Narimatsu appointed as director at Edelman Japan

Edelman Japan has appointed Kyota Narimatsu as director of capital markets. Narimatsu was most recently managing director and co-president at strategic communications consulting firm Finsbury Japan.

He has previously worked for Sumitomo Bank, Standard and Poor’s and Barclays. 

The announcement

Edelman Japan has announced the hiring of Kyota Narimatsu as Director of Capital Markets, reporting to Ross Rowbury.

He will look to enhance Edelman’s strategic counsel of corporate profile positioning, corporate reputation management, capital markets as well as crisis and financial communications.

Narimatsu joins the firm from Finsbury Japan, where he was Managing Director and Co-President of the strategic communications consulting firm, managing high-profile strategy advisory for clients including Toyota, and NEC through multifaceted situations. 

Prior to joining Finsbury, he was Head of Corporate Communications at Barclays Japan. Narimatsu started his professional career at The Sumitomo Bank (now SMBC) in the bank’s Corporate Planning Department, where he was responsible for enhancing the financial accounting of the bank’s international and capital market businesses.
