MediaMonks merges with Silicon Valley digital agency Firewood

S4 Capital has merged MediaMonks with what it said is Silicon Valley’s largest digital agency, Firewood, in the latest expansion of Martin Sorrell’s self-described “new age” digital empire.

San Francisco-based Firewood was founded in 2010 by Juan and Lanya Zambrano with its seven locations offering creative, strategy, planning, performance media and technology services.

It lists Google, LinkedIn and Salesforce as among its clients.

S4 said the addition of Firewood is “another important strategic step” towards delivering a “new era communications services leader”.

“Firewood has an enviable client list comprising many of Silicon Valley’s finest, and we are delighted to welcome Juan, Lanya and their colleagues to the S4 Capital family,” Sorrell said in a statement.

The acquisition brings S4 Capital’s workforce to 1800 across 23 countries.

Firewood adopts what it calls an “embedded” model, whcih is describes as a “deeply collaborative way of working with client to deliver “speed, quality and value”.
