Gojek Singapore creates campaign to make private-hire rides a ‘kind space’

As part of the celebrations of its first anniversary in Singapore, Gojek created a film for World Kindness Day, observed on November 13. Created by BLKJ, the film featured Singaporean comedian Fakkah Fuzz doubling up as a driver. It questions the popular trope of swear words being among the first things one picks up when encountering a new language.

Speaking to Mumbrella about the motivations driving the campaign, a spokesperson for the company said: “This is the first time Gojek Singapore is participating in World Kindness Day. We hope to encourage people to make private-hire rides a kind space.

“Since we launched, we’ve been focused on bringing choice to the market, joy to the streets and delivering a great user experience. This World Kindness Day, we also hope to spread kindness among our driver-partners and customers, and encourage them to be kind to one another during their journeys.”

Asked about the reaction to the video so far, the Gojek spokesperson said: “It has been very positive, with viewers complimenting the message and creativity, and celebrities such as (actor and entrepreneur) Irene Ang sharing it on social media. We’re hopeful that this cheeky and light-hearted video has driven home the message in a fun yet effective way.”
