Wunderman Thompson Indonesia appoints Vaishali Sarkar as CEO

Vaishali Sarkar has joined Wunderman Thompson Indonesia as CEO. She was previously CEO of BBDO Indonesia.

Sarkar has previously worked extensively for Ogilvy across India and Indonesia. She replaces Marianne Admardatine who is moving to a larger role in WPP.  

The announcement:

Wunderman Thompson Indonesia has appointed Vaishali Sarkar (pictured) as CEO. Previously, Vaishali served as the CEO of BBDO Indonesia, before taking a gap year in 2019.

From her 16 years in the industry in India and 13 years in Indonesia, Vaishali led teams across Ogilvy offices to win 3 Echo Golds, a Cannes Lion in India, and 2 Cannes Bronzes in Indonesia. As the Managing Director in Indonesia, she brought about significant growth and success for the agency, and she has been at the helm of multi-channel campaigns for both local and global brands. Key clients that Vaishali had worked with included Unilever, Nestlé, Bank BTPN, Gudang Garam and more.

Marianne Admardatine joined JWT Indonesia in 2017 as CEO. After the merger of Wunderman Indonesia and JWT Indonesia, Marianne was elevated to the role of CEO of Wunderman Thompson Indonesia, leading the agency through its integration and growth. “I am very proud of what Wunderman Thompson Indonesia has become, and very thankful towards our management, our teams, and our clients on what we have managed to achieve so far. I am wishing Vaishali and Wunderman Thompson Indonesia all the best,” she said.
