Advertising agency JWT has brought an executive over from London to run its Shanghai office.

Dan Ingall joins the agency from JWT London where he has run the Nokia account as global business director since 2011.

He replaces Eric Lee, who is leaving JWT China with ECD Elvis Chau next month to start their own agency.

The move marks Ingall’s third stint in China, having started his career at Grey in Shanghai in 1997. The Australian has also worked for JWT in Beijing, where as client services director he worked on clients including Microsoft, Nokia, Carlsberg, Shell and Cadbury.

“Dan has a unique combination of international and local experience, as head of multinational accounts at JWT Beijing and his global Nokia role. He is passionate about China, and he’s deeply committed to building an agency of the future that’s focused on ideas that transcend media, and new models of collaboration,” said Tom Doctoroff, JWT’s APAC CEO, in a press release.

Ingall’s appointment comes soon after the hire of Bill Chan as chief creative officer. Chan replaced Chau.
