LinkedIn launches platform for brands

Business social network LinkedIn has announced the launch of a new platform for brands.

The announcement:

LinkedIn today announced the launch of LinkedIn Sponsored Updates, providing brands with a new way to effectively build relationships and foster leads with followers and non-followers alike.

LinkedIn Sponsored Updates will allow companies to promote content – including videos, presentations, and product news – in the newsfeed of the online professional network’s more than 225 million members, extending the reach of their page and allowing them to engage with new audiences.

Here are some quick facts about Sponsored Updates:
· Customer trials have helped customers like HubSpot generate 400% more leads from their target audience compared to other paid channels

· Can be seen on desktop, smartphone, and tablet devices alongside organic posts from users’ networks; but will clearly be marked ‘sponsored’

· Available on both a CPM and CPC basis via a bid-based auction

· Users can track the effectiveness of their posts and fine-tune their strategy in real time, through comprehensive analytics

· Available in 20 languages across 200 countries and territories

· Currently available to enterprise customers, and will be rolled out to self-service customers by the end of July
