Samsung tells love story through the lens of a Galaxy camera phone

Wind chimes in a bakerySamsung has created an eight-episode web series based in the style of a Korean drama to promote its new Galaxy S4 mobile device in Malaysia.

The series, directed by Korean Jang Jae Hyeok, tells the story of a Chinese girl and a Malay boy in love. It is shot partly through the lens of a Galaxy camera phone.

“With the Galaxy S4, Samsung has taken smart devices another step closer to a more human experience, said Eric Cruz, ECD at Leo Burnett Malaysia, the agency behind the campaign. “So we thought: What better way to express the GALAXY S4, a human phone, than with an essentially human story, a love story.”

“The GALAXY S4 really was the emotional core for this love story. It reflected both characters and in the end becomes a living testament to their love.” he added.

The series features local actors Koe Yeet and Ahmad Nabil and guest stars Samsung Galaxy S4 brand ambassadors Liyana Jasmay and Awal Ashaari.
