Dentsu moves Hiroshi Sato from Japan to Singapore to head up media

Dentsu’s Singapore office has appointed Hiroshi Sato as head of media.

Sato replaces former head of media Akiro Suzuki, who has re-located to Tokyo.

News of the switch comes just days after it emerged that a key Dentsu client, Marina Bay Sands, is reviewing its media business.

Hiroshi moves from a role as project manager at Dentsu Inc in Japan where he had a brief to grow the agency’s media business in the region.

Sato will report to Dentsu Singapore boss Rosalynn Tay, who is two months into her role running the agency.

Tay said: “Hiroshi fits the profile of someone with diverse experiences and strength essential in my new management team. Furthermore, his competency in our key focus area of “convergence marketing” will offer more for our clients specifically those with a regional, cross-cultural focus. We are pleased to have him on board our team.”

In Sato’s career, he has worked as associate planning director at Mindshare Shanghai, regional business director at Mindshare Asia Pacific and director at Ogilvy Shanghai.
