JWT and Always combine to launch shopper marketing division

Ad agency JWT has launched a shopper marketing division.

The unit has been formed by expanding WPP-owned Chinese field and activation agency Always and combining it with JWT’s consumer activation arm in Singapore.

The new hub, called JWT Always, will be housed within JWT’s Singapore office and run by the agency’s CEO Frank Bauer.

JWT Always is already up and running in Taiwan, having launched in May, and will roll out in Southeast Asia through the Singapore office.

Sanjiv Sharma has been appointed MD of JWT Always, and Anand Kumar as
GM. Sharma joins from Southeast Asian shopper and field marketing specialist 8 Group, while Kumar was previously with Advocceight. The duo will report into Bauer.
