Strawberryfrog Singapore hires Colin Wan as regional new business director

Colin WanAd agency Strawberryfrog has hired a senior new business executive as it eyes growth in the region out of its new Singapore office.

The ‘cultural movements agency’ launched in Singapore in September, Mumbrella reported, with Procter & Gamble and the Economic Development Board as founding clients. Mary Jane Butler moved from the New York office to Singapore to run the agency as MD.

Former Ogilvy RedCard Asia Pacific vice president Colin Wan has joined the agency as regional new business director.

The Oxford University-educated executive joins from the Institute for Media Innovation in Singapore, where he was a business development consultant for a 10-month spell.

Before IMI, he worked in new business for the Singapore office of Finnish agency Luxus, where he picked up BMW, Citi, Diageo, adidas and The Economist.

He has also worked at Ogilvy & Mather and OgilvyOne – where Butler also worked – and in 2004 co-founded his own digital marketing agency, Carbon Interative.

In his earlier career, Wan worked as a production assistant at MTV in Hong Kong.
