Y&R creates new structure to develop agency brands in Asia

Y&R has announced a new network development structure to grow its traditional and digital agency brands across the region.

Camellia Tan takes on the newly-created role of director of network development for VML Asia, Y&R’s digital agency brand, which has launched in eight markets in Asia over the last 18 months.

Y&R Shanghai’s client services director Liz Kim succeeds Tan as director of network development for Y&R Advertising Asia, and will be based in Singapore.

Both have a brief to expand their brands’ through acquisitions, partnerships and talent development. A focus for Y&R next year will be shopper marketing.

Matthew Godfrey, president of Y&R Asia, said: “2013 was a year of phenomenal growth for Y&R, including opening our new office in Myanmar on the occasion of the network’s anniversary. VML now has over 400 staff in the region, having opened 8 offices across in just 18 months, from Singapore and Sydney, to India, Indonesia, Tokyo and most recently VML IM2.0 in China.”

“Leveraging synergies between Y&R Advertising and VML have been, and will continue to be, key to our business growth in Asia,” he said.
