Standard Chartered launches charity Facebook campaign for Hong Kong Marathon

StanChartStandard Chartered Bank has launched a campaign on Facebook to raise funds for the charities it supports as part of its backing of this Sunday’s Hong Kong Marathon.

Called “Stride for Hope”, the campaign rewards donors with a personalised Facebook profile picture and cover photo showing their support for the Marathon and chosen charity. It also encourages family and friends to donate too.

The charities are the Hong Kong Anti-Cancer Society, Seeing is Believing – ORBIS and Hong Kong Paralympic Committee & Sports Association for the Physically Disabled.

Eva Chow, head of brand and sponsorship management, corporate affairs, Standard Chartered Bank Hong Kong, said: “Hong Kong people see this as an opportunity to not only stride towards health and fitness but towards unifying our city and putting the spotlight on those in need.”

“This year we’ve brought the donation process directly into Facebook leveraging Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon’s strong fan base of 55,000 people, making good use of the shareability the platform provides. We’re expecting a quantum jump on the total funds raised at the end of the campaign,” said Jan Cho, director at DAN Hong Kong, the agency behind the campaign.
