IPG Mediabrands appoints Pablo Gomez as APAC comms planning director

IPG Mediabrands has appointed Pablo Gomez from the media’s agency’s Spanish office as regional communications planning director for Asia Pacific.

SINGAPORE – MARCH 3rd, 2014 – IPG Mediabrands, the media arm of Interpublic Group (NYSE:IPG), announced today that UM Spain’s Strategy, Insights and Analytics Partner Pablo Gomez has been promoted to the role of Regional Communications Planning Director, IPG Mediabrands, APAC. Gomez will be based in Singapore and will report to Natalie Pidgeon, Chief Strategy Officer, IPG Mediabrands APAC.

Gomez will provide renewed support to the core brands of UM and Initiative. His role will focus on integrated strategy, creative output, communications planning, thought leadership, Gomez will join the Asia Pacific team from Spain where he has been at UM since 2011. An accomplished strategist and marketing research analyst specializing in brand health, media, and communication, Gomez brings a depth of knowledge about working for large brands, such as Coca-Cola, Telefonica, P&G, Barclays, Yell, Deloitte, and Google. In the last three years, he has done work with Microsoft and J&J. Prior to his position at UM, he held multiple positions at Millward Brown since 2003, including Group Account Director, Head of Media Practice, and Associate Director.

Natalie Pidgeon welcomed Gomez to the team, citing his “impressive ability to work with data and insights to develop communication strategies that align with business and brand objectives.” Gomez related his enthusiasm for the new position, stating, “I am eager to join Mediabrands APAC. It is a great opportunity to work with a very talented team in a very exciting region. I look forward to contributing to the company with my knowledge of insights and strategy.”
