DDB has announced hiring two creatives on the day it emerged that creative director Andrew Hook was leaving for a rival agency.

Hook, who worked for DDB Singapore for three and a half years, has joined Havas Worldwide Singapore as executive creative director.

Joining DDB Singapore are Masaya Ishizaka as creative director of technology and Kaushik Iyer as creative group head.

Ishizaka joins from 1-10 Holdings in Shanghai where he was creative director and CEO. Ishikzaka, who has also spent much of his career in Japan, won China’s first ever gold in the mobile category.

Iyer has worked in India and Singapore and was part of the team that worked on Lead India and Teach India, both Grand Prix winners at Cannes. He joins DDB from JWT Singapore, where he worked on the Singapore Tourism Board, Changi Airport, HSBC, Pizza Hut, Nikon and Friso accounts.

“We’re adding expert talent to do great work for our clients. This is a step up the curve for DDB in the sophistication of the solutions we create. Masaya and Kaushik will bulk up our digital and experiential expertise. Not only do they have proven track records of creating innovative work, they’re also solid creative leaders,” said Joji Jacob, group ECD of DDB Group Singapore.
